Margarita Island in a nutshell
by: Janelle Myers
Well, you can call me a chicken if you want, but I grew up in Alaska. Sure, we had a whole lot of shakin' goin' on up there but we didn't have tornados, hurricanes or electrical storms around Anchorage where I grew up. We also didn't have snakes, three cheers!!! I never wanted to go to a Caribbean island. I had no desire to go on a cruise. So what did I do? I got married, left Alaska, and eventually, we went on a cruise with my brother and visited Venezuela amidst all the Caribbean island stops.

How to See Margarita
by: Jan Walker
What do you want to see? You can get a customized tour of the island with a couple of the nicest young people you ever hope to meet. They have a well-kept SUV, with air conditioning, and they are excellent drivers. If you want to make a big hit with the drivers, bring them some Dr. Pepper. Can’t buy it on Margarita.

by: Nell Walling
One of the local airlines is Aeropostal. However, lots of other airlines fly to Caracas. Right now, there is renovation being done at the airport on Margarita. When it is finished, I am told that there will be direct flights to Margarita from the US.

Let’s ride the bus
by: Brandee Rochelle
There are bus lines for different areas. For example, if you want to go to Punta de Piedras (where the ferry that runs between Puerta la Cruz and Margarita docks), you can get a bus in Porlamar. The Mercedes line is located at the corner of San Nicolas and Mariño. Walk down Mariño a few more blocks and you can take the Union Tubores line.

Travelers with Disabilities: The Untapped Market
by: Craig Kennedy
When most people think about accommodating people with disabilities in their business they get a scared feeling in their gut and their mind scrambles to search for that all-important date when the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) went into effect. In spite of that, we still had fun, managed to find interesting sites to explore and those are the memories that I still have.
